Will Power has set the fastest lap in the second practice session of IndyCar Saint Petersburg Grand Prix, Florida. The Penske driver led ahead of Chevrolet duo of Scott Dixon and Simon Pagenaud, who was the fastest on practice 1.

Like 2015, Team Penske led the Friday practices sessions in Tampa Bay, Saint Petersburg. The Detroit squad, finished as fastest in first session with Frenchman Simon Pagenaud. He was followed by the British Jack Hawksworth (A.J. Foyt Enterprises) and Helio Castroneves (Team Penske) in a very little margin of time.

In the second practice, Will Power (Team Penske) set the fastest lap of the day with a 1:00.9437 minutes, finishing ahead of Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) and team mate, Simon Pagenaud.

In both sessions the red flags appeared. In FP1, was caused by Power who crashed into the wall at turn 10. In FP2, a red flag due to track inspection stopped the session for a big time, then Alexander Rossi (Bryan Herta Autosport by Andretti Autosport) run out of the track and caused another and the final red flag of the day.
