Kimi Raikkonen drove the 2020 Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN F1 car, the C39, at Ferrari’s test track Fionaro, using a test livery ahead of official launch.

Like in 2019 when Alfa Romeo ran a special Valentine’s Day livery when Raikkonen took the C38 on track for the first time at Fiorano, the 2020 start for the Swiss-Italian F1 outfit is the same as the Finn undertook a shakedown of the new machine at the same track.

The team ran a test livery again with Raikkonen wearing an all-black race suit, which was same as what he wore during the Abu Dhabi tyre test in 2019. Alfa Romeo is scheduled to showcase its 2020 F1 car on Day 1 of the pre-season test at Barcelona.

Antonio Giovinazzi was a spectator during the shakedown as the team looks ahead to challenge the other midfield F1 outfits in the fight for fourth. Earlier in the day, Alfa Romeo also announced a partnership with Huski Chocolate for 2020.

The Swedish brand already sponsors McLaren and joined Alfa Romeo for one race in 2019 but for 2020, it will be its partner for the whole season with its brand logo to appear on the car, drivers’ race suits and also the clothes of the team personnel.

Frederic Vasseur, Team Principal Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN and CEO Sauber Motorsport AG, said: “We are proud to announce this partnership with our friends at Huski Chocolate. We got to know their brand well at the United States GP last year and we are delighted the success of that initial partnership led to this new deal.

“The Huski chocolate drinks were extremely popular with our team personnel and guests and we’re happy their taste will be with us for the whole of the season.” At the same time, Linus Wessman, CEO at Huski Chocolate added: “We are well connected to the great people at Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN, and look forward to working with them for the upcoming season.

“Their team is a shining example of Swiss precision and Italian passion coming together to achieve excellence and success. There are also strong Nordic connections present which reflect the Swedish and Finnish heritage of Huski Chocolate, it feels natural to bring Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN into our family of sponsorships, strengthening our presence in F1 alongside our current partnerships, which we remain deeply committed to.”
