Five months after Jules passed away, his father Philippe wishes to create a foundation in his memory to financially help young drivers’ careers.
After he evoked the idea on last September, Philippe Bianchi develops his wish of creating a foundation in a long interview for French magazine Auto Hebdo.
“I am creating a Foundation Jules Bianchi in Monaco with Prince Albert’s backing as he has also been moved by this tragic event.”
This foundation will create a fund by expositions with personal effects, derived products stamped JB17 or manifestations to allow young drivers to be financially safe to start a career in motorsports.
“If we want to have new Prost, Senna, Schumacher and others, this is the only good solution. Too many kids could not take their chances, lacking money.”
Philippe Bianchi wishes he could do for other what he did for Jules, just as he did for Charles Leclerc when he introduced him to manager Nicolas Todt.
If this foundation stays dedicated to motorsports before all, Philippe Bianchi does not exclude taking young guns from other sports when the time will come.
“In the meantime, we are creating a JB17 go-karting chassis brand. Jules would have loved to do it if he had had the time to do so…”
