Boles has directly apologized to the present fans, pointing out that the situation is disappointing. ‘IndyCar is deeply disappointed with our promoter’s inability to complete the construction of the circuit on time, despite the support we have provided,’ he stated. ‘Ontario has always been a magnificent market for our sport, as demonstrated by the large number of attendees present today.’
Despite the disappointment, Boles has emphasized his confidence in the layout once the vehicles start racing. ‘We believe the circuit will be spectacular,’ he said, thanking local officials for their support. ‘The city of Markham has made a great contribution to provide us with a fast, technical layout that promises great competition during Sunday’s race.’
Meanwhile, Green Savoree Racing Promotions is working to finalize the construction, while IndyCar has adjusted Saturday’s schedule to include two practice sessions and qualifying. The latter, as usual, will follow the ‘road course’ format for the competition for the NTT P1 award.
