James Vowles, team principal of Williams, has stated that the team will take advantage of the post-Silverstone GP review to hit the reset button and return strong for the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix. Williams is trying to recover from a difficult home race, which has left more questions than answers about their latest improvements.
In a post-race appearance, Vowles explained that the team is undergoing an internal review to address the performance shortfalls that have been identified. ‘We need to take stock of the data and focus on those key elements that will help us move forward,’ commented the British director.
With its sights set on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Vowles highlighted the track’s peculiarities and its challenges. ‘Belgium is one of the drivers’ favorite circuits. It has sections like Eau Rouge that are dizzying and several opportunities for overtaking,’ he pointed out.
Additionally, Vowles warned that weather conditions could complicate the competition. ‘Traditionally, the weather can be a challenge, so we might face the first wet race of the season,’ he added.
Despite the difficulties, the Williams team hopes to overcome the obstacles and debut competitively at the Belgian Grand Prix, reaffirming its determination to reset and return to fighting strong.
