Smith was quickest in the second MotoGP free practice session. Bradl and Marquez were second and third respectively.

Bradley Smith finished the second MotoGP free practice at Circuit de Catalunya in first position. The Tech 3 rider, with a time of 1:42.123, was ahead of Bradl by just seven thousandths of a second. Marquez was third, getting ready to attack during the rest of the weekend.

 

The two Yamaha factory riders, Lorenzo and Rossi, occupied the first two positions of the timesheets at the beginning of the session. Behind them, the two Honda factory riders: Pedrosa was third and Marquez was fourth. Bradl ended the monopoly of the official bikes in the opening minutes and set the fastest time.

 

Bradl had little time to taste the first place as Marquez improved the time of the German and took the lead of the standings. In the final minutes, Smith surprised and rose from 11th place to first while his teammate, Pol Espargaro, was fifth.

 

When the time was up, Smith was on top. Bradl was second, with Marquez in third place. Lorenzo was fifth and Pol Espargaro closed the top 5 positions.
