LCR Team has unveiled the Castrol-backed MotoGP livery and bike of Alex Marquez, as the Spaniard moves to the satellite outfit for 2021.

Having raced for the factory Honda team in 2020, Marquez was confirmed to take a step back in 2021 with LCR Team alongside Takaaki Nakagami, replacing Cal Crutchlow, who has left competitive riding to take up a test role with Yamaha.

At the same time, the Honda seat of Marquez has been filled up by Pol Espargaro alongside Marc. In his rookie MotoGP season last year, the Spaniard had a tough start after his experienced brother got injured. He became the seasoned rider alongside Stefan Bradl.

Marquez picked up towards the end of the year with multiple MotoGP podiums but it was too late by then as his switch to LCR was already confirmed. In the end, he finished 14th in the standings with 74 points – scoring more than double of what Bradl managed.

It will be a fresh start for Marquez with LCR, where he will ride the latest RC213V, with Honda deciding to trust the Spaniard with the brand new machine. He will be using the Castrol livery, which was unveiled on Friday, slightly tweaked from 2020 season.
