Max Verstappen has revealed a special helmet design for his last home race, which will take place at the Dutch Grand Prix in 2026. The competition, scheduled from August 21 to 23 in Zandvoort, will mark the farewell of this event from the F1 calendar.
The new helmet of the Dutch driver features a color palette of white and blue, inspired by traditional Delft ceramics. It includes intricate floral patterns and ornate details around the lower edges, maintaining the logos of Red Bull and Oracle at the front to add a splash of color to the ensemble.
Verstappen shared the design on social media with a touching message: ‘For my last race at home. Dankjewel Zandvoort.’ The post has already received over 305,000 likes, reflecting the emotional impact of this event for fans.
The race weekend will be significant, as F1 and the event promoter have agreed to extend the contract for one year, but no long-term extension will be sought. This means that Zandvoort will disappear from the calendar starting in 2027.
During the season, Verstappen is positioned sixth in the drivers’ championship with 109 points, far behind the championship leader, Kimi Antonelli, with a difference of 110 points. Likewise, the Red Bull team is in fourth place in the constructors’ championship with 177 points.
