In the first practice session, Andrea Iannone led a Ducati 1-2 ahead of Andrea Dovizioso by 0.2s, Pol Espargaro was third. In the second practice, Iannone kept the lead from Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez.

Iannone dominated the first practice session, topping the times all the way except for a brief moment when Maverick Viñales and Danilo Petrucci managed to go faster until the Italian regained control on the timing sheets.

Andrea Dovizioso and Pol Espargaro improved in the last stages of the session, more than 0.2s second away from Iannone’s best time in 1:34.349. Scott Redding and Petrucci followed in P4 and P5 ahead of Yamaha teammates Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi. Honda seemed to suffer on this track as their best rider was Marc Marquez in P11. Viñales, Bradley Smith and Hector Barbera completed the top 10.

In FP2, despite threatens of rain, the sun kept shining in the Netherlands. Iannone went 0.8s quicker than he did in FP1. Rossi could come back at the end of the session, only 0.004s behind his fellow country man. After a terrible morning, Marquez could find some pace again and completed the top 3 with less than a 0.15s gap to Iannone. Let’s remind that Iannone will start from the back of the grid after a collision with Lorenzo during the Catalan Grand Prix.

Viñales, Lorenzo, Dovizioso, Petrucci, Aleix and Pol Espargaro and Scott Redding complete the top 10 while Pedrosa kept struggling with his Honda in P11.
