Ferrari announced a ‘Back on Track’ initiative along with the experts at A.USL Modena, where they will be helping employees returning to work.
Ferrari is expected to re-open on April 14, both at Modena and Maranello, with production to begin. The F1 side won’t see mega work as the FIA has extended its shutdown from 21 days to 35 but the factories will see return of certain section of employees.
They have started a ‘Back on Track’ project along with A.USL Modena, where they have taken advice of experts like Dr Nicola Bedin, President of Lifenet Healthcare, Professor Roberto Burioni of the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milano and the health pool of Ferrari company doctors coordinated by Dr Maurilio Missere.
The project has various steps where Ferrari will have voluntary screening of its employees with blood tests to check their state of health, which will help them know where they stand. The service is available for relatives of employees too.
Post that, Ferrari has noted about an App, where they will receive medical support for the symptoms. The idea is also to provide medical and psychological assistance to the employees and any employee who tests positive for COVID-19 will get more.
They will get free insurance cover as well as accommodation suitable for self-isolation, with medical and nursing support at home, along with the support of medical equipment such as medicines, oximeter and, in case of emergency, oxygen.
It is an important step taken by Ferrari to help its employees and its families. A similar step could be seen for other F1 teams in the future, especially for the UK-based outfits, where the COVID-19 is slowly spreading in larger numbers.
