Max Verstappen is the clear winner in the Top 10 drivers for 2022 F1 season as chosen by the 10 team bosses.
Red Bull’s Verstappen has been chosen as the clear winner by the 10 team bosses for the 2022 F1 season with 207 points out of the 250 available. They were marked as per the points awarded with the winner getting 25, runner-up 18 and so on.
After his record-breaking 15 wins and an overall dominant show to pick up his second F1 title with races to spare, Verstappen was no doubt the best of the lot. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc ended up second with 144 against his name for his personally best year.
Interestingly, the Mercedes pair of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton took up third and fourth with 127 and 100 points respectively as they both beat Red Bull’s Sergio Perez with 91 points. The Mexican was third in the drivers’ standings but not per team bosses.
Likewise Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz was seventh with 68 points despite his first win and multiple podiums as McLaren’s Lando Norris was ranked sixth with 81 points. The Spaniard did have a slow start and found himself in the wrong side of reliability which affected his run.
Even though Alpine’s Esteban Ocon beat the rest of the Top 10 drivers in the team bosses list, the Frenchman did not find a place as teammate Fernando Alonso (67) was eighth followed by Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas (29) and Aston Martin’s Sebastian vettel (24).
Here’s the list of the team bosses that voted: Mattia Binotto, Jost Capito, Christian Horner, Mike Krack, Andreas Seidl, Guenther Steiner, Otmar Szafnauer, Franz Tost, Fred Vasseur and Toto Wolff.
