Oliver Rowland has taken the pole position for Race 1 at Le Mans in Formula Renault 3.5 Series. The championship leader will start in front of Egor Orudzhev and Matthieu Vaxivière.


 

Difficult qualifying in a difficult place, which is circuit de la Sarthe (Bugatti) whit only 4.1 kilometers that caused a lot of problems to the 19 Formula Renault 3.5 drivers.

Is the sixth pole position of the season for the Racing Steps Foundation driver, Oliver Rowland. He managed well the traffic problems and use all the track to take a pole position avoiding the track limits.

Second place for the SMP Racing young driver, Egor Orudzhev who had a lot of problems in the final minutes but he was able to set a fastest lap, only 0.05 seconds behind Fortec Motorsports driver.

Third place for the local driver, Matthieu Vaxivière who hasn’t any traffic problems, but by the way, he didn’t use the whole of the track as Rowland did, this is the key difference between him and the championship leader.

Another Frenchman will be alongside him at the second row of the gird, Tom Dillmann. The Jagonya Ayam with Carlin driver took fourth place in front of Tio Ellinas, Dean Stoneman, Roy Nissany, Nyck de Vries, Aurélien Panis and Gustav Maja on top 10.

The session was interrupted early with a red flag caused by Beitske Visser from AVF.

The race will start at 13:30 at Le Mans, France.
