Lando Norris has tested COVID-19 positive, while in Dubai, where he is holidaying ahead of a scheduled training programme for 2021 season.

Norris becomes the fourth F1 driver to test COVID-19 positive after Sergio Perez, Lance Stroll and Lewis Hamilton, albeit outside an ongoing season. The Brit is already isolating in his hotel room, where will have to spend 14 days before he can get out.

McLaren notes that his symptoms at this juncture is only loss of taste and smell. When he started to feel it, he immediately went for a test which returned positive. At present he is in Dubai for his holidays, where he was also to train for the 2021 F1 season.

It is unclear if Norris was to be the solo driver in the programme. His teammate Daniel Ricciardo is seemingly in the USA at the moment. They are not only ones to be away as Max Verstappen noted his presence in Brazil, spending time with Piquet family.
