Marc Marquez got through Fabio Quartararo to win fifth consecutive MotoGP sprint in Spanish GP from Alex Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia.
It was a good start from Ducati’s Marc Marquez from the front row in Spanish GP at Jerez, but pole-sitter Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo retook the lead after brief loss. Gresini’s Ducati’s Alex Marquez passed Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia for third, as he almost lost fourth to VR46 Ducati’s Franco Morbidelli.
But he managed to keep Mrobidelli at bay, as Gresini’s Fermin Aldeguer was sixth from Tech 3 KTM’s Maverick Vinales, VR46’s Fabio di Giannantonio and Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi in the Top 9 points places. Di Giannantonio was the mover in the field from he started.
He was up to sixth from Vinales after crash for Quartararo, who lost the bike at Turn 6 when he was offline when M Marquez tried to pass him to take the Spanish GP lead on Lap 2. A Marquez was up to second from Bagnaia, as Morbidelli was fourth from Aldeguer and di Giannantonio.
Vinales was seventh from Bezzecchi, as Honda’s Joan Mir moved up into the points in ninth. Halfway in the sprint, Pramac Yamaha’s Jack Miller crashed out at Turn 6 and he was followed by LCR Honda’s Johann Zarco at Turn 2. It was a steady run for most part of the sprint race.
Not much happened for most part after Lap 6, as M Marquez took another MotoGP sprint glory in Spanish GP to make it five wins in five races, as A Marquez was second from Bagnaia and Morbidelli, who had a warning against his name for track limits, but wasn’t in danger.
Aldeguer was fifth after defending from di Giannantonio, as Vinales was seventh from Bezzecchi and Mir in the Top 9 points places, with KTM pair of Pedro Acosta and Brad Binder finishing just outside of it. The South African had Trackhouse Aprilia’s Ai Ogura on his tail.
