The FIA has shared the details of the circuit changes for F1 Miami GP along with shortened DRS zones, stewards names and more.

As known, Niels Wittich stays as the FIA Race Director and the track limits is the white lines and the walls for a street course like the F1 Miami GP. There’s plenty of changes though especially the re-pavement of the whole circuit with a new asphalt.

Among others, the changes are –

  • New asphalt paving of the full circuit.
  • Reduction of the run-off at exit Turn 1 LHS including realignment of walls and barriers.
  • Reduction of the run-off at Turn 4 RHS including realignment of walls and barriers.
  • Reduction of the run-off at Turn 7 RHS including realignment of walls and barriers.
  • Reduction of the run-off at exit Turn 11 including realignment of walls and barriers.
  • Realignment of walls between Turn 13 and Turn 14 on RHS, vehicle opening moved closer to Turn 14.
  • New curved wall at apex Turn 14 LHS.
  • Adjusted layout of Turn 15.
  • Walls between Turn 16 and Turn 17 on LHS, in the area of the pedestrian bridge,  realigned.
  • Pit exit line shortened.
  • Pit entry line shortened.

The DRS zones as per the FIA Race Directors’ note has been changed from the 2022 event. The first zone’s detection point sits at 90m after Turn 8 as opposed to 83m from last year. The activation zone is 105m after Turn 9 as opposed to 67m in 2022.

The second’s detection zone is 70m after Turn 16 which was 73m last year, while the activation zone is 525m after Turn 16 which was at 450m in 2022. The third detection zone is 15m after Turn 17 as opposed to 19m and activation is at apex of Turn 19.

In terms of the FIA stewards, Nish Shetty stays on as the lead of the group with a pattern forming where there is one common name. He will have the support from Matteo Perini, Danny Sullivan and Dennis Dean.
