The recently-appointed Chief Executive Officer of the FIA, Natalie Robyn, has left her role after mutual understanding.

Robyn was roped in as the first CEO of the FIA back in 2022 and has been in the role for about 18 months before taking her exit. She becomes the fourth high profile departure from the governing body under President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

Sporting director Steve Nielsen was the first to go, followed by single-seater technical director Tim Goss and head of the commission for women Deborah Mayer. Goss, meanwhile, was replaced by former Sauber technical officer Jan Monchaux.

The tenure of Sulayem has always been under some sort of controversy. He is amid a legal battle with F1 Academy chief Susie Wolff, after she filed a case regarding the FIA opening up an investigating suspecting conflict between her and Mercedes F1 boss Toto.

While this goes on, in her parting message Robyn said: “Performing in the role of CEO at the FIA has been an enormous privilege, and I am grateful to have directed a programme of restructuring and reform. Now is the time to step away in the knowledge that the organisation is better placed for the challenges which lie ahead.

“I take great pride in my role in advancing the FIA’s transformation across both Sport and Mobility, and I am pleased to leave an organization comprised of a wonderful team of talented and dedicated individuals.”

At the same time, Sulayem added: “Natalie’s appointment was notable as the first CEO in the history of the FIA. She has contributed greatly to a wide-ranging re-organisation of our operational and management structure as well as our financial sustainability. On behalf of the FIA, I wish her well in her future endeavours.”
