Lewis Hamilton has set his teammate, Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel in a race that has dominated from start to finish.
1. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes AMG Petronas): “Unbelievable experience! After such a long winter, after a difficult start of the weekend, it was nice to win at this track in front of a wonderful audience. I want to dedicate this victory to the Malaysian fans and their families, especially after the tragedy that occurred a few weeks ago. Today is very hot, so I started to sweat before sitting down in the car. During the race I tried to stay focused, and, fortunately, the team spent all flawless pit stops, ideally choosing time for them.
Unusual that during the race this year headwind noise overlaps the motor sound, but overall excellent machine showed itself, and all employees of Mercedes superbly done your work.”
2. Nico Rosberg (Mercedes AMG Petronas): “Thanks to my race engineer have worked very well. I’ve made a very good start, this allowed me to put myself in second position. Lot of action in those first few corners and from there try to catch Lewis but it was impossible. One more thing, Malaysia can be proud because your company, Petronas, is what has brought us where we are thanks to fuel and everything they do in Formula 1.”
3. Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull-Renault): “The start was not too ok, I thought it had been good, I have focused on Lewis get behind Nico but then appeared to the right. Very tight, we were all together, trying to pass Nico I lost the position but then was able to recover and then I tried to bring as much as possible to Nico. But I seemed to have a march more, much straight away and then was all a matter of reaching the final. Dani has not been able to get it for various reasons but it is good to podium after podium Dani in Australia. Much work remains ahead, congratulations to those who are ahead.”
