Dorna Sports has join hands with social media giants Facebook for exclusive MotoGP content on its platform for the 2020 season.

While already having Tata Communications as its connectivity partner, MotoGP now has Facebook Watch as its new digital partner for the 2020 season. Original behind the scenes videos will be put up, ranging from five to seven minutes for fans to view.

The deal kicks-off from Round 1 of the 2020 MotoGP season, where they will follow the Moto2 and Moto3 championships, in the absence of the premier class at Losail International Circuit for the Qatar GP. Dorna hopes to tap the Facebook market.

Manel Arroyo, managing director of Dorna Sports, said: “MotoGP is committed to connecting to and engaging with our fans and giving them new ways to enjoy and interact with our content, making Facebook a perfect partner for our sport.

“It’s also a fantastic way to connect with new audiences, showing them the best of MotoGP with exclusive, showstopping content.” The riders and teams can re-post/share the video content on their pages and other social media platforms.

While Facebook gets access for Moto2/Moto3 championships in Qatar, it will have to wait until the Americas GP in April for MotoGP content, after the cancellation of Round 1 (Qatar GP) and postponement of Round 2 (Thai GP).
