Lando Norris was dominant in the final qualifying session of the FIA ??European Formula 3 weekend at Park Circuit in Zandvoort, Netherlands, where the McLaren youngster has taken the pole position.

During the first minutes of the session, as usual, there has been a constant improvement of the times by all drivers. But with only two fast laps, most drivers decided to stop in the box, except for Nikita Mazepin (Hitech GP), who had not even gone out to make a first stint.

At that time, Callum Ilott (Prema Powerteam) led the timesheet with a 1:28.814, just ahead of Pedro Piquet (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Maximilian Günther (Prema Powerteam).

With 6 minutes left, the times began to improve drastically, with the top five separated by only one tenth with Günther ahead. This equality was maintained until Lando Norris (Carlin) got an awesome lap of 1:28.271.

This time was achieved just before the appearance of the red flag with 4 minutes to go, due to a runway exit and subsequent impact against the barrier by Jehan Daruvala (Carlin).

When the green flag returned, the riders only had time to complete one or two quick laps. However, it was Norris who continued to set the pace with a 1:28.038, being one tenth faster than Callum Ilott and Jake Hughes (Hitech GP).

The session ended with a yellow flag caused by David Beckmann (Motopark), who left the track at turn 10, hit the billboard and subsequently lost control of the car.

This means absolute dominance by Lando Norris, who will start first in both races tomorrow.
