Anthoine Hubert set the fastest time at qualifying session 1 of Formula Renault 2.0 Alps at Jerez. The Frenchman starts ahead of Jack Aitken and Vasily Romanov, as championship leader Jake Hughes will start from fifth position.

Hubert who is in his third round in Alps as wild card, take his fourth pole position of the season in the Italo-swiss series. Jack Aitken, the fastest yesterday on practice is in second position and have a good option to cut the gap with Jake Hughes who start fifth, behind Romanov and Barnicoat.

Jehan Daruvala will start sixth as Hugo de Sadeleer seventh in his bets qualifying result ever in Formula Renault. Eight position for Martin Kodric, ninth place for Thiago Vivacqua who have some options to win the title, then in tenth place is Simon Gachet.

Another championship contender, Matevos Isaakyan will start from position third-teen, and Stefan Riener from fifth-teen.

Today’s race one will start at 13.45 in the Andalusian soil of Jerez.
