A great start by Reay and Power in the rain that ultimately would be the top candidates for the victory, both pilots circled each other in times closely followed by Hinchliffe. Power maintained the first position til the time he made an error what relegated to second place. At that time Reay dominate the race until the end. Juan Pablo Montoya performed a great comeback from eighth position with great overtakings, taking advantage of his great experience to be placed at fourth place until one driver hit him out of track.

Gradually the track was drying so the strategy was given by the use of dry tires with little wet places. Reay getting the victory after the bitter situation of Long Beach followed by Andretti and Dixon. Pagenaud and Power would complete the fourth and fifth. The race would end under caution after the crash of Aleshin
The championship is led by Power 125 followed by Reay 107, Pagenaud Dixon 92 and 87. Upcoming races at Indianapolis (oval indy 500 included)
