This race started with Forés and Melandri in the lead while Rea was waiting right behind them for his opportunity. Rea easily took second place thanks to Melandri’s problems to control his bike, and then, Forés crashed out, leaving Rea alone in the lead.
But it was not done yet as Davies was on his comeback, he took second position and was closing the gap in the final laps. A mistake from Rea on last lap let Davies take the victory in Ducati’s home.
