Pedro Piquet has crossed the finish line in first position during second race of Toyota Racing Series at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park (Taupo) in New Zealand. Thomas Randle –who takes the driver’s championship lead, and Jehan Daruvala completes the podium.

The second race of the weekend started with Kami Laliberté from pole position, thanks to the reverse grid system. But the Canadian from M2 Competition was overtook at the start by his team mate, Pedro Piquet who would be leading until the end.

Despite that, Piquet was pressured by Thomas Randle –who previously overtook Laliberté, before the safety car appearance on lap 9.

Finally, Randle finished second, ahead of Force India protégé, Jehan Daruvala. Out of the podium finished the Kiwi’s Marcus Armstrong and Brendon Leitch.

On sixth position finished Richard Verschoor, ahead of Enaam Ahmed and Luis Leeds. Completed the top10 Thomas Neubauer and Keyvan Andres Soori. Laliberté despite the pole position finished out of top10.

Thanks to the second position, Randle is the new points leader of the championship with 15 points of margin ahead Richard Verschoor.
