FedEx Freight will be the new primary sponsor of the NASCAR Truck Series starting in 2027, in a long-term agreement that will replace Craftsman. The championship will officially be renamed the NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Series.

Craftsman was the sponsor of the Truck Series from its inception in 1995 until 2008. Subsequently, the sponsorship was taken over by Camping World and Gander Outdoors before Craftsman’s return in 2023.

Craig Stimmel, senior vice president and chief commercial officer of NASCAR, stated that the choice of FedEx Freight as a partner represents great value for the world of competition. «This choice reflects the strength of our sport today and its ability to create value for companies that want to grow,» he said. Furthermore, he added that the link between FedEx Freight and the series is natural, given the similarities of shared values, such as reliability and competitiveness.

John Smith, president and CEO of FedEx Freight, also commented on the alliance: «Some collaborations just make sense. With our independence, we are focused on opportunities that strengthen our brand, and we are confident that the NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Series will provide that.»

In addition to the primary sponsorship, FedEx Freight will become an official partner of NASCAR and will be its express partner in the transportation of goods in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Prior to this partnership, FedEx’s most significant involvement in NASCAR was its sponsorship of Denny Hamlin and Joe Gibbs Racing for nearly two decades.
