German driver Marvin Kirchhöfer steps up from GP3 to GP2 series with British squad Carlin.

Kirchhöfer debuted his racing career in 2012 by winning the ADAC Formel Masters championship right in his rookie year in single-seaters. His career goes on in Germany and he won the German Formula 3 championship in 2013. In 2014, he joins GP3 Series with ART Grand Prix and finishes third overall in 2014, repeating it in 2015. He was also confirmed racing in European Formula 3 with Eurointernational before preferring GP3 Series for the 2015 campaign.

The 21-year-old driver steps up to GP2 Series and is the first driver confirmed with Carlin which still has no second driver ahead of the first collective tests in Barcelona.
