Haas F1 Team is working on its financial strategy for the 2027 season, with the aim of bringing its budget closer to the established limit. The team director, Ayao Komatsu, has announced that talks with new sponsors are progressing positively.

Currently, the American team operates with just over 400 employees and has been functioning below the maximum budget since its inception. With the current sponsorship of Gazoo Racing from Toyota, which replaced MoneyGram, Haas is looking to increase its sponsorship portfolio for the upcoming season.

Conversations with potential partners

Recent rumors indicate that Haas is in negotiations with BWT, currently a sponsor of Alpine. This Austrian company had been considered by Haas previously after ending its contract with Aston Martin. Meanwhile, Alpine plans a new contract with Gucci for 2027.

Komatsu has expressed that the lack of budget has limited the team in expanding its resources and infrastructure, and that its priority is to attract new partners that increase the team’s revenue. Recently, he pointed out that talks with several potential partners are going well: ‘We are talking to many prospects; the situation is very positive for next year’s budget.’

Future drivers and performance-based selection

Regarding driver selection, Komatsu has indicated that the team is not looking for drivers for commercial reasons and that it will focus on performance when choosing its lineup for 2027. Currently, Ryo Hirakawa, Leonardo Fornaroli, and Rafael Camara are testing for the team.

Komatsu has stated that he wants two fast drivers, regardless of their affiliation with other brands, emphasizing that the priority is to achieve the best possible performance. ‘We know that each position in the championship represents a significant amount of money for us,’ he concluded.
