Timo Glock will start from pole position in DTM Race 2 at Hockenheim, Germany. The BMW driver was dominant in mixed conditions, and beat the Audi’s of Rene Rast and Jamie Green.

A crazy 20 minutes of qualifying today in DTM. The session started under wet track conditions, so the wet tires were mandatory to be stay on track. With this compound Edoardo Mortara was the quickest ahead of Mercedes team mate Paul Di Resta and BMW driver, Maxime Martin.

But the first driver who decided to put slick tires was Timo Glock who would finally take the pole position after a frenetic final 8 minutes of qualifying, where every lap, every driver was improving.

Driving with slick compound caused also a lot of outings from many drivers, also from Glock who went off twice but set the pole position with a lap time of 1:31.406.

It could have been a BMW one-two with Augusto Farfus who set the second fastest time but, he did it after cross the checker flag, so he was penalized for that and will start this afternoon last.

That is good news for Audi drivers René Rast and Jamie Green who will start second and third. The best Mercedes was Edoardo Mortara finishing on 5th position.
