The FIA Compliance Department is looking at potential conflict involving F1 team boss and a FOM employee.
After a report published on Business F1 regarding potential conflict and passing of information between a Formula 1 team boss and FOM employee, the FIA has noted about the Compliance Department looking into the matter to understand it better.
It is unclear who it relates to exactly as the FIA has only noted it to be a ‘F1 team boss’ and a ‘FOM eomployee’, but the report suggested it to be Mercedes F1 boss Toto and F1 Academy head Susie, who are husband and wife while being their respective roles.
The former has been part of the German manufacturer for long, while the latter was appointed as the head of the feeder series few years ago. The report suggested paddock chatters around the topic increasing as time progresses.
The fear is of a potential passing of information between the two, but no such case has come up. It is also unclear if it centers around some other team as the FIA isn’t to disclose the names until perhaps the investigation has completed.
“The FIA is aware of media speculation centred on the allegation of information of a confidential nature being passed to an F1 team principal from a member of FOM personnel,” the statement said. “The FIA Compliance Department is looking into the matter.”
