Scuderia Ferrari has completed its Phase 1 of the 2021 launch showcasing its drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz along with the F1 team.
Unlike previous times, Ferrari has divided its launch event for 2021 F1 season, with the first one focusing on Leclerc and Sainz along with the whole team personnel. The car and its livery will be unveiled on March 10, just two days before the pre-season test.
It was not a live event with interviews from Mattia Binotto, Leclerc and Sainz pre-recorded, showcasing footage from their Fiorano testing and also seat fitting. The two drivers also had a session together, asking questions to each other – sent by their boss.
Binotto not only opened the video segment but also closed it. The team gear and race suit hinted on a darker shade of red, as some of the footage also showed the old Ferrari F1 car with their 2021 sponsors under the gloss paint format.
The launch comes after Ferrari head John Elkann visited Maranello to speak with the F1 team in the presence of Binotto, Leclerc, Sainz and also its reserve, Alfa Romeo Racing’s Antonio Giovinazzi, ahead of the start of the crucial 2021 season.
“The most important thing this season will be to demonstrate our will to win, through our commitment and dedication,” Elkann was quoted by Ferrari. “We will have to pay attention to every little detail: it all adds up.”

Staying on with more F1 news, Pirelli revealed the grand prix name of the race to be held at Imola. The Italian manufacturer are to sponsor the event, with the official designation changing from what it was in 2020 to 2021 season.
“Pirelli will be the title sponsor of this year’s Formula 1 Pirelli Gran Premio del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia Romagna. Proud to be the backer of what is probably the longest race name in F1 history! And it’s in our home country, at Imola,” said a small statement.
