Video: Codemasters shares Zandvoort footage and F1 2020 game covers

F1, Zandvoort

Codemasters has releases footage from Circuit Zandvoort which will feature on F1 2020 game as it also shares the different covers.

After revealing the release date of the F1 2020 game, Codemasters has now shared not only the different covers for the markets but also footage from the newly added Circuit Zandvoort with Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen driving the new car.

“The team has done an incredible job in recreating every aspect of the circuit. The banked final corner heading into the long straight is something players are going to enjoy,” said Lee Mather, F1 Franchise Game Director, Codemasters.

“Circuit Zandvoort is highly technical with height variation, blind crests and unsighted braking points and corner apexes. It’s an onslaught on the senses and doesn’t give players a moment to rest.” It is the first time for the circuit to feature on F1 game.

Verstappen drove an old Red Bull ahead of the 2020 F1 season start and they were supposed to be getting ready for the Dutch GP this weekend but for the COVID-19 pandemic. It remains a question mark if they can re-schedule the grand prix.

Interestingly, Codemasters has released the footage from Zandvoort but not Vietnam’s Hanoi International Circuit, which is in reality a brand new track, with F1 yet to get even an old car on the streets to understand how the track feels.

Aside the track footage, Codemasters also released images of the different covers for the various markets like the international one which will be same for United Kingdom and Germany having Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.

Meanwhile, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy and Japan has Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, with Spain and Mexico having Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez and Australia and Poland featuring Kimi Raikkonen and Daniel Ricciardo.

They also have released the special edition cover for Michael Schumacher. F1 2020 will release on July 10 on PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X, Windows PC (DVD and via Steam) and Google Stadia.
