Max Verstappen knows repeating same moments like he had in F1 2023 is not possible and so even if he wins title with 10 race victories in 2024, he will be fine.

What Verstappen and Red Bull achieved in the course of 2023 F1 season in terms of the race wins and the records set or broken, it will be a difficult ask for anyone or even the team and the Dutchman to repeat or break it anytime soon.

They look to have a dominant machine at the moment, but it is not given how it will pan out in 2024. Verstappen is certainly aware of the situation and that is why he wanted to live the moments in 2023 as much and he did get emotional too about it.

He is also realistic of the future which is why he notes that he will be content even if he wins the championship in 2024 with just 10 race wins instead of the 15 and or 20. “The 2023 season we won a lot,” said Verstappen. “Also, as a team, it was really enjoyable to work with everyone inside the team.

“Of course, once you are winning a few in a row, you want to keep that momentum going and the pressure is always on. I was never thinking about trying to break all these records. I was just trying to do the best I could every single race weekend and enjoy it as well at the same time, because these kind of great moments, they don’t come along that often.

“So yeah, it was a very, very good year. Realistically, of course, it can’t be much better than what we have achieved. But I think it’s not always about trying to win 20 races. It’s also about just trying to find improvements within yourself, and within the car. And if that means in 2024 we have improved the car and we can fight for the championship again, but you only win 10 races, that’s also fine.

“It’s just been also that the competition around us has been quite up and down in 2023. One weekend it was this team, then the other week it was another team. So, I expect in 2024 people are learning a lot with this new regulation as well that it, naturally, will actually be quite a bit closer,” summed up Verstappen.
