It was another smoother FP2 session in F1 Spanish GP at Barcelona, as McLaren’s Oscar Piastri set the pace after a slightly out of sequence run but only by couple minutes. The Australian didn’t look as good in FP1, but bounced back well to lead the way from Mercedes’ George Russell.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was fifth from Mercedes’ Andrea Kimi Antonelli, where the Italian noted about better balance straightaway at the start of FP2. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso was seventh from Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, as the Visa Cash App RB pair rounded out the Top 10.

It was Isack Hadjar ahead of Liam Lawson, as the duo continued their fine run. They dropped Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton to outside the Top 10 in 11th from an upgraded Sauber of Nico Hulkenberg. Red Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda was only 13th, as he complained of no grip on his fast lap.

The Williams pair of Carlos Sainz and Alexander Albon was 14th and 15th, where the Spaniard finished under a second of Piastri’s time to have the Top 14 covered within a second. Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll’s time of 1m13.839s was the second identical time of FP2, with the Thai driver ahead.

Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto was 17th after a small run-off moment, ahead of Haas pair of Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman, where the Brit lost some time to repairs after losing control on the kerb and going through the gravel. Alpine’s Franco Colapinto rounded out the 20 runners.
