Robert Shwartzman won the first race at Monza with three accidents involving the safetycar or a redflag. Sacha Fenestraz and Gabriel Aubry joined him on podium.
Robert Shwartzman started from pole position ahead of Gabriel Aubry and Will Palmer. The start went quite right and Sacha Fenestraz was pressing on Palmer. At the back of the field, an incident between Rodrigo Pflucker and Ghislain Cordeel had the safety car entering on track.
At the restart, Fenestraz attacked Palmer and passed him at the first corner for P3. The Franco-Argentine driver managed also to pass Aubry at the Parabolica and started the second lap in second position. Further back, Max Defourny battled with Ye Yifiei to keep his P6.
At the back of the field, Yue Yangsun climbed on the back of Korneev and implied another safetycar. With one minute and a half to go, the race restarted. Fenestraz stayed behind Shwartzman and intended to pass him at the first turn but eventually had to stay behind. Defourny got up to P4 before an accident involving Neil Verhagen led to the end of the race by a red flag.
Robert Shwartzman claimed the first victory of the week-end at Monza ahead of Sacha Fenestraz and Gabriel Aubry. Palmer, Defourny, Peroni, Chaves, Fewtrell, Ye and Verschoor completed the top 10.
