Oliver Rowland has achieved victory in the second race of the Red Bull Ring FR2.0 after fighting with Gasly throughout the race. Esteban Ocon who starts in p21 only managed to reach the 14th position.
Oliver Rowland takes a good advantage in the drivers ranking because after this race stands 17 points ahead of Pierre Gasly, second overall and second in the race, leaving behind Esteban Ocon, who could not win any point and is 48 points with 6 races to go.
Since the start of the race Pierre Gasly tried to overtake Oliver Rowland. French was faster than british in the first sector, in the second both were similar and in the third the British left behind the French. This equality caused that Gasly approached Rowland in the first sector and return to the initial distance in the third during the whole race, with Gasly approaching in the beginning of th lap, but could overtake Rowland. Finally the race ended as it had begun, with Oliver Rowland first, Peter Gasly second and Ed Jones third.
Esteban Ocon need to win positions and get a good result to avoid being taken down in the fight for the title. In the first laps, Ocon has tried to get rid of as many riders as possible and managed to move from the 21th to the 14th position, from then Ocon couldn’t overtake anymore.
