The Renault Sport F1 Team has showed glimpses of its 2020 livery on the R.S.20 through an online launch via Paris, ahead of the pre-season test.
Renault already confirmed that they will not release their 2020 F1 car during the online but show glimpses of the car and its livery. It became the third team to show its colours and fifth outfit – after Haas, Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull – to have had some kind of launch.
Renault showcased an all-black test livery on their 2020 F1 car, the R.S.20, which they are likely to use during the pre-season testing in Barcelona. The actual car is still in pieces and is on its way to Barcelona where it will be assembled.
The team selected to showcase renders instead of a show car as it made no sense. While it is unclear for now but is assumed that they will reveal the full livery once we are in Australia for the first grand prix of the 2020 F1 season.
The team will feature Daniel Ricciardo, who will be joined by Mercedes junior Esteban Ocon, who replaces Nico Hulkenberg. The event featured the F1 drivers along with the officials and the Renault Sport Academy members for the 2020 season.
In the new season, Renault is looking for podium finishes and fourth place in the constructor’s championship – something they lost to customer team McLaren last year. The idea will also be to knock on the Top 3 doors.

In addition to the reveal, Renault also confirmed academy driver Guanyu Zhou will become its new F1 test driver, replacing Jack Aitken. “I’m looking forward to becoming the team’s Test Driver,” he said. “It’s another step up from being Development Driver in 2019.
“This year I have an even better opportunity, meaning working harder than before, getting as much information as possible for driving a Formula 1 car and, at the same time, improving the areas the team needs to work on to help them get better in the future.”
