Pirelli Motorsport completed a wet tyre test at Magny-Cours with Mick Schumacher, trying out the compound for F1 2024 season.

With the 2023 season done and dusted, the last running was also done so at Magny-Cours in France with Pirelli undertaking a wet tyre test looking towards the 2024 F1 season. It was Mercedes in action with reserve driver Schumacher driving.

The track used the wet spray to complete the damp running where Schumacher completed 90 laps on Tuesday in the W14 E Performance. He ran the intermediate tyre where he posted a time of 1m35.542s, while the full wet saw him post a time of 1m41.962s.

The second day on Wednesday also had Schumacher complete 90 laps, where Pirelli only ran the wet tyre. He posted a time of 1m37.893s where the Italian manufacturer called it an ‘intense’ day of testing using the full wet compound.

“The test took place in challenging weather conditions, with low temperatures that complicated the planned programme,” said Pirelli head Mario Isola. “We nonetheless collected data that we will now carefully analyse to see how we can develop this type of tyre. I would like to thank Mercedes for all their collaboration throughout this test, as has been the case on other occasions during the year as well.”
