Justin Marks, founder of Trackhouse Racing, has recently addressed the possibility of seeing Max Verstappen, the four-time Formula 1 world champion, competing in NASCAR. In an interview, Marks acknowledged that there are obstacles, but he does not rule out this option for the future.
The Project 91 initiative from Trackhouse Racing allows prominent drivers from different disciplines to try their luck in the North American championship. Marks highlighted that, despite his interests, Verstappen has previously stated that he has no immediate plans to participate in NASCAR.
Regarding the relationship between Red Bull and Trackhouse, Marks mentioned that discussions have been positive, although the current Ford power unit presents a major conflict. ‘They need a different engine in their Formula 1 car for the ideal circumstances to be met,’ said Marks, confirming that the brand is currently Chevrolet.
As for the Project 91 calendar, Marks did not provide details about upcoming races but hinted that Magnussen’s participation in San Diego could be one of the few events of the season.
