The FOX Sports network has announced the commentary team for the Freedom 250 race in Washington, D.C., which will take place next Sunday, August 23. This competition will mark the first time IndyCar races through the streets of the U.S. capital, coinciding with the celebrations of America’s 250th anniversary.

The race commentary will be provided by Will Buxton, Townsend Bell, and James Hinchcliffe. In addition, the broadcast will include live coverage from the pit lane with Jack Harvey, Georgia Henneberry, and Kevin Lee, as well as special reports by Jamie Little.

Extended Prerace Coverage

The race day coverage will start with an extended prerace show of 90 minutes, airing from 11:30 AM ET on FOX and FOX One. Chris Myers will be the host, joined by the winners of four Indianapolis 500, Helio Castroneves and Danica Patrick, who is the highest-placed woman in the history of the race.

The special prerace program will delve into the new urban circuit of the capital while paying tribute to the different branches of the U.S. military. FOX Sports reporter Tom Rinaldi will also be present for interviews and special reports.

Doubleheader Action: IROC Presented by Chevrolet

In addition to IndyCar, the weekend will include the IROC Presented by Chevrolet competition, which will be available live on FOX One at 3 PM ET on Saturday, with a re-air on FS1 on Sunday morning. Townsend Bell and James Hinchcliffe will be joined in the commentary booth by NASCAR analyst Clint Bowyer, while NASCAR Hall of Fame member Jeff Gordon will provide commentary from the cockpit during the event.

The coverage of the IROC races in the pit lanes will be coordinated by Jack Harvey and Jamie Little. FS1 will repeat the IROC action on Sunday morning at 10:00 AM ET.
