Honda Racing Corporation USA became an official entity replacing Honda Performance Development, as company’s global efforts – including F1 – will undertake the work.

As Honda noted in their earlier press brief that they are going to create one entity to look at the global racing efforts, it was made official on Tuesday with ‘Honda Racing Corporation USA’ coming into being under the short name of ‘HRC US’.

The global racing effort will include the F1 power unit programme. The two independent racing arms – HRC Japan and HRC US – will work together to strengthen Honda’s motorsport activities across the globe in various forms.

The Sakura base looked at Honda’s auto racing activities, wile Asaka focused on motorcycle racing. The Japanese manufacturer created HPD in America to look at their IndyCar and IMSA efforts alongside off-road racing, touring cars and Baja events.

It will now combine efforts to create one global strength, with the F1 work getting HRC US getting involved. At the moment, Honda supplies and works together with Red Bull Powertrains, but from 2026 onward they will start a new journey with Aston Martin.

“The team and I here at HRC US are excited and humbled to embark on this next racing adventure,” said David Salters, president of HRC US. “Honda’s racing heritage is exceptional. I have just come back from Honda’s annual ‘Thanks Day’ activity at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit: Moto GP, Formula 1, Indycar, Motocross, Dakar endurance, Trials, Touring Car, Super GT all being demonstrated at the highest level by a paddock full of world champions.

“Only Honda does this. We challenge ourselves and entertain our amazing Honda Racing fans across all pinnacle racing, two and four wheels. Add Honda’s cool car and bike culture, cutting edge technology and superb vehicles to this and you can only feel immensely proud to be joining our companies and amazing people together to make one global racing organization, HRC Honda Racing. This really is the power of dreams, moreover we get to race our dreams.”
