Harrison Burton, son of acclaimed driver Jeff Burton, will return to competition in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this weekend, driving the number 5 vehicle from TRICON Garage at the Indianapolis Raceway Park (IRP).
Currently, Burton competes full-time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series with Sam Hunt Racing. After a four-year hiatus from the truck category, this is a significant opportunity for the driver, who already has 40 races in his Truck career with 11 results in the top five.
Despite not having achieved any wins in truck races, Burton has recorded six third-place finishes and one pole. This return represents a special moment, as he began his NASCAR career in this very category.
After a standout season with four wins in the NASCAR O’Reilly the following year, Burton moved up to the NASCAR Cup Series with the Wood Brothers. In 2024, he achieved an important victory in the Daytona race during the summer.
