Jamie Green has controlled perfectly the first race on Saturday in Hockenheim, Wehrlein was second and third Di Resta.
First DTM race in this new format of two races per weekend, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. On this, today we have Jamie Green from pole behind the British, Wehrlein and Mortara. Farfus come out in the last line because of a problem he had at the end of the classification that made him unable to back to the pits under its own power,that’s why he has been sanctioned.
When the light goes off we had a clean start in the first meters, worldwide using the loophole of the corner 1 to the grass in the case of Scheider made forced to retire because of damage to its flat bottom. In corner 2 we saw the first hints that resulted in the withdrawal of Wickens.
Green managed to create some distance between him and Wehrlein. At the back, Da Costa suffered a contact with Molina who made a spun. Meanwhile, Di Resta advance Wehrlein for second place.
Blomqvist, Molina and Juncadella had to retire after several crashes. This caused the appearance of the safety car.
With 18 minutes to go, the race was relaunched, Ekström attacked Tambay and behind this pair. Ekström overtook the Frenchman, but the battle finished with a flat tire in the Tambay car that force him to pit.
And one lap later Tomzcyck lost the control of his BMW at Turn 4 crashing with Auer and Paffet that had to retire. The Saftey car came back to the track again.
When they return to green flag, Götz spun at first corner without consequences and the race it stabilized again slightly until Glock performed a splendid overtaking maneuver over Wittmann from outside at the stadium sector. Then one lap later, Wehrlein regained his second place after overtook Di Resta.
Victory for Jamie Green who has handled well the distances despite two safety car, second and third is for Wehrlein, Di Resta. Very eventful race that ends with one rookie in last place.
