Pierre Gasly was the fastest of the free practice of GP2 series at Hockenheim ahead of Artem Markelov and Alex Lynn.

Oliver Rowland was the first to go out followed by DAMS of Lynn and Latifi for an outlap but the Rapax are the ones setting their first laptime. Giovinazzi, who told us he felt confident on this track he knows really well, was the first to dip under the 1’25 laptime but Arthur Pic kept the lead during the first 10 minutes of the session.

Drivers tried to find their marks on the track while Sean Gelael went into the gravel but managed to go out again. Gasly took the lead of the session after a quarter of hour ahead of Markelov and Lynn.

The air pin looked quite tricky for some drivers like Gasly, struggling to find his braking point. During the second half of the session, there were no real improvement as most of drivers were doing long runs.

Gasly finished in the lead ahead of Markelov and Lynn. Ghiotto, Nato, Marciello, King, Rowland, Giovinazzi and Sirotkin completed the top 10.
