The FIA has warned about companies named Prive Global Events and Informa Hospitality Group sending letters claiming to be authorised when it is not.
About a month ago, FIA had revealed about companies sending letters to customers/fans claiming to be authorised sellers of F1 hospitality packages with logos which a normal person would think that it has come from official sources.
However, the governing body denied so and warned the fans about the same. They have done so again after further investigation. The FIA has named Prive Gloval Events and Informa Hospitality Group as the two culprits of it as of now.
They are allocating passes under the name of the governing body but the FIA notes they are not authorised sellers to them and or any of its affiliated entities. And the letters that the customers/fans received haven’t come from them.
“The FIA has recently become aware that companies named Prive Global Events and Informa Hospitality Group have sent emails offering to sell hospitality packages to FIA Formula One World Championship Grand Prix,” it said.
“As part of those offers, these fraudulent companies have been providing its potential customers with letters purporting to have been sent to it by the FIA to confirm the allocation of hospitality passes in the names of Prive Global Events’ or Informa Hospitality Group’ customers. Those letters can feature the FIA’s name and logo, alongside the names of bona fide FIA staff members, of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and F1 logo.
“However, Prive Global Events and Informa Hospitality Group are not authorised by the FIA (or any of its affiliated entities) to sell hospitality package tickets to Grand Prix. The letters that these companies have been providing to its potential customers were not sent by the FIA or any authorised entities. Accordingly, any representation from these companies relating to the FIA should be ignored.”
