The FIA has shared details about track limits for F1 Spanish GP along with the circuit changes, DRS zones and more.

The track limits as per FIA Race Director for F1 Spanish GP is the white lines as expected, but they have added an information regarding re-joining the circuit post an off at Turn 1-2-3 where the lap could be invalidated for drivers’ gaining lasting advantage.

“Any driver going with 4 wheels to the left of the LHS track limit white line at Turn 1 and Turn 2, may only rejoin the track at Turn 3 if the car passes to the LHS of the two bollards at the entry of Turn 3 without gaining any lasting advantage,” the note said.

In terms of the DRS zones, the first zone’s detection point is at 86m before Turn 9 with the activation being 40m after Turn 9. The second zone’s detection point is the Safety Car Line 1, with activation being 162m after Turn 14.

Much like we saw in Canada, the Barcelona circuit will have certain changes too from the 2023 Spanish GP event, but they are not major ones which could affect or change the racing. The list of the circuit changes is here:

  • Concrete verge extended at exit Turn 2 on LHS.
  • Concrete verge extended at apex Turn 7 on RHS.
  • New bollards at exit Turn 2 on LHS.
  • Concrete verge at apex Turn 2 on RHS repaired and newly painted.
  • Concrete verge between Turn 13 and Turn 14 on LHS repaired and newly painted.
  • New opening between Turn 13 and Turn 14 on LHS.
  • New Marshal Post 11.2 in Turn 12 on RHS.
  • All stickers removed from Pit Lane surface.

As for the FIA stewarding panel, it will be led by Felix Holter and he will have the support of Mathieu Remmerie, Vitantonio Liuzzi and David Domingo.
