Scuderia Ferrari has invited doctors/nurses for this weekend’s F1 Italian GP as Monza details on their ‘FaceForFan’ idea.
With this year’s F1 Italian GP also being a closed door event, Ferrari has revealed a honour they are bestowing on the doctors and nurses of the country for all of the hard work put in amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as they are invited to attend the grand prix.
A total of 250 will be present at Monza in the grandstand – albeit with social distancing – as Ferrari wishes to salute them for all their work. It is unclear at the moment if they will be there for all the three days of track action or just on Sunday.
It will be the first F1 grand prix of the 2020 season with any form of fans in the stands. Officially, the inaugural Tuscan GP at Mugello Circuit will be the first to have fans with tickets bought as the organisers will allow 2,880 in the three different stands.
Monza, meanwhile, has another idea for the fans to be there albeit their faces at least. Under their ‘FaceForFan’ idea, fans will have to click a selfie in the range of avatars available and buy a space at the circuit, where that cardboard will be placed.
It will cost 40 euros only with the circuit to print the avatar and place them. The money will go to support the National Institute for Infectious Diseases IRCCS Lazzaro Spallanzani, the IRCCS CA ‘GRANDA Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico Foundation and the Brianza Association for the ONLUS Heart which deals with preventing and fighting cardiovascular diseases.
