F1 shares first images of the car to be used for Brad Pitt’s movie on the sport for Apple TV produced by Lewis Hamilton.

To make the unnamed movie look as real as possible on the screens, shooting of the same will kick-start at Silverstone circuit during this weekend’s F1 British GP. The garage #26 and #27 between Mercedes and Ferrari has been allotted to ‘APXGP’.

The film revolves around a veteran of F1 – played by Pitt – returning to the sport with a smaller team and teaming up with a youngster – played by Damon Idris. As per photos of the pits, Idris is named as Joshua Pearce in #26, with Pitt in #27 as Sonny Hayes.

It is not certain if this will be the names of the characters in the movie as they can still change it with the help of CGI. Pearce is likely to be in the #9 car, with Hayes in #7. It is a modified F2 car that they will drive in between the sessions.

They will not run during any official session but it will be made look like they are with the help of CGI. They will also be captured as part of the F1 fraternity in the paddock. Mercedes has helped with the modification of the F2 car since the start of the project.

The black and gold liveried car also has certain sponsors of the Mercedes F1 team who seems to have agreed to be part of the movie produced by Hamilton. Silverstone is the start of the shooting as they will housed at more events in the races to come.

Sky Sports, Channel 4 –

Sky Sports and Channel 4 announced a contract extension of its highlights coverage and free-to-air British GP broadcast for until the F1 2026 season. As has been happening, Channel 4 will continue to showcase highlights of every grand prix until 2026.

Likewise, they will broadcast the whole British GP on their FTA channel. “We’re thrilled to have struck another Formula 1 deal with Sky and are delighted to once again bring UK audiences Formula One for free,” said Channel 4’s Alex Mahon.

“The partnership between Channel 4 and Sky benefits the British public and allows everyone to get into the sport and brings in new fans and ensures Formula 1 gets much wider reach and prominence with British audiences. Just like British audiences I love that unique Formula One combination of engineering technology, personal humanity, glittering glamour and unbelievable race tension.”

At the same time, Stephen van Rooyen from Sky UK added: “Together with Channel 4 we’ve shared some of the most iconic moments in sporting history and our relationship is as strong as ever. The length and nature of this deal shows Sky’s deep commitment to help increase the reach of Formula 1 and continue to support one of the most exhilarating, and fastest growing sports in the world.”
