F1 shares details of fines and penalty points for drivers/teams in 2022

F1 has shared details of the total fine that the drivers and teams have incurred in the first half of 2022, along with the penalty points.

The first half of the 2022 F1 season has seen host of fines incurred against the drivers and teams as per the FIA documents. The fines allotted is for various offences that the drivers were handed in the first half for breaking certain rules.

Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel leads the drivers’ chart with a sum total of €35,900, where the majority comes from his behaviour in the F1 drivers’ briefing. Following the German is Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz with €25,000 and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez with €10,600.

Several drivers in the list have €10,000 against their names, where the least is for the AlphaTauri pair of Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly who have €1,300 against their names. Among the F1 teams, Aston Martin leads the way with €41,800 against its name.

The team has seen 13 offences from both Vettel and Lance Stroll’s end, while Ferrari sits in second with €35,000 against its name – thanks to impeding fine of Carlos Sainz. Red Bull is third with €20,600, largely for Max Verstappen’s breach of drivers’ assistant rules.

The least offence is against Williams with €1,800, whereas Alpine and Haas have no fine against their names. Here’s the list of F1 drivers and below is also for the teams:

Moving on to the F1 superlicense points, AlphaTauri’s Tsunoda and Williams’ Alexander Albon have the highest against his name with eight. The former has had various penalties for offences like speeding, driving unnecessarily slowly and more.

The latter has had similar issues too, with Alfa Romeo’s Zhou Guanyu and Vettel having seven penalty points, while the likes of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Haas’ Mick Schumacher having the least points of one each.
