The well-known YouTuber Cleetus McFarland, whose real name is Garrett Mitchell, has decided to take a step forward in his racing career by purchasing his first Pro Late Model. This acquisition, driven by recommendations from prominent figures such as Dale Earnhardt Jr., aims to refine his competitive skills.
Recently, McFarland completed a full day of testing at the Tri-County Speedway with his new vehicle, the No. 33 from Rette Jones Racing. Although he experienced a minor incident during the session, he expressed satisfaction with the car’s performance, and already has plans to participate in an event at Berlin Raceway in Michigan.
The driver also aims to compete in the late model races that he organizes himself at the Freedom Factory, a 3/8-mile oval that he owns in Florida. In a video, McFarland expressed enthusiasm for the new car, believing it will provide him with the necessary experience to improve.
In his post-testing comments, McFarland expressed surprise at the automobile’s performance, stating that “it is much better than all the other cars I’ve driven.” He also highlighted the difference in grace and control that the Pro Late Model provides compared to the cars he has driven previously.
Cleetus McFarland’s next challenge will be the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Talladega Superspeedway on October 23. His trajectory in NASCAR has started strongly, including a second-place finish in ARCA at Talladega, which marked a highlight of his career so far.
With a two-year contract with Richard Childress Racing, McFarland continues to focus on his development as a driver and gaining the necessary experiences to advance in the racing world.
