Christian Rasmussen, after an intense season in the IndyCar championship with Ed Carpenter Racing, rejoins the Era Motorsport team to participate in the Battle on the Bricks race, which will be held this weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The 26-year-old Danish driver will share the wheel of the #18 Oreca 07 Gibson in the LMP2 category with driver Nick Boulle, who had already been confirmed previously. This collaboration symbolizes a return to the roots for Rasmussen, who contributed to Era’s victory in the same category during the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2024.
Rasmussen has expressed his enthusiasm for resuming his relationship with Era Motorsport, recalling the great moments experienced with the team. ‘I have many positive memories with this team, especially when we won the Rolex 24 together. I trust that, with Nick, we will have a solid lineup and can compete against the rivals on the track,’ he commented.
For his part, Nick Boulle returns to competition after a year-long break from prototype cars, expressing that he is excited about the challenge of participating at the Brickyard. ‘I know Kyle Tilley is preparing a great car and the team has shown good work in the past; it’s an opportunity we couldn’t pass up,’ said Boulle.
The collaboration between Rasmussen and Boulle is exclusive to this two-hour and forty-minute race. On the other hand, the regular team of the #18, consisting of Ferdinand Habsburg, Jacob Abel, and Naveen Rao, will return to compete in the season finale, the Motul Petit Le Mans, which will take place at the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta next month.
