Davide Tardozzi, manager of the Ducati team in MotoGP, has shared his expectations for the Indonesian Grand Prix, where he admits that losing up to 12 points could be an acceptable result, considering the difficulties presented by the Mandalika circuit.

Ducati’s star rider, Marc Marquez, is in the midst of a championship battle, although his history at Mandalika is not the most favorable. Tardozzi has expressed his concern about the performance of his bike on this track, acknowledging that other rivals, like Aprilia, could be faster.

After the recent Japanese Grand Prix, which Marquez won, Tardozzi noted: ‘Mandalika does not suit our bike well.’ This led the team to set more modest expectations for Sunday’s race. In his statements, he said that ‘losing 10 or 12 points might not be a bad result’ given the circumstances.

Despite his realistic stance, Tardozzi emphasized that the goal is always victory. ‘We are going to Indonesia to win,’ he assured, stressing the team’s determination to fight for the top position, despite the challenges.

Marquez, who has never finished a MotoGP race at Mandalika, will seek to overcome this difficult history, while trying to surpass Jorge Martin, who currently leads the championship by just two points.

Ducati’s record at Mandalika, with three consecutive victories in recent years, including those of Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin in 2023 and 2024, provides a certain optimism, although Marquez is the one who really needs a great performance this time.
